The Burtonwood 5 Mile Road race was run from 2005 to 2013.  The race was run on an accurately measured 5 mile road course on country lanes in & around Burtonwood.

There was also a fun run which was approximately 1.8 miles (not accurately measured).

The 5 mile race was run under UK Athletics Rules.  The minimum age for runners was 15 years old on race day. 

The race was organised by Burtonwood Bridge ARLFC, assisted by Spectrum Striders Running Club.

Veteran's categories were in 10 year age bands, up to 55 for women and 60 for men.

Race HQ:  The Bridge Inn, Burtonwood, Warrington, Cheshire.  [This pub no longer exists.]

Race Route

The race started and finished at the Burtonwood Bridge Inn and the race route was on country lanes in & around the area of Burtonwood.

It had a first lap of about 2¼ miles which came back past the pub, followed by a second lap of about 2¾ miles.  Both laps were anti-clockwise.
