Lunchtime Charity Fun Runs

Please note that these runs are not organised by Spectrum Striders RC.  The runs are organised by members of Spectrum Striders and other work colleagues & friends.

Unlike many other charity runs, all of the entry money is donated to a charity and some people also raise sponsorship to increase their donation.

Everyone involved in the race organisation donates their effort for free – race organisers, people who take entries, marshals.  There is often a small gift to finishers (e.g. cereal bar, fruit), donated by a local company.

The runs are during midweek lunchtimes, usually on Friday, at 12:30 pm.  The runs are often substantial events as you can see from the numbers of finishers.

The course is always the same 5k course as for the well-established Forest Park Ladies-only 5k race held every July.  To see details of the route, click HERE.

Comic Relief 5km FUN RUN 20-Mar-2026

Friday 20th March 2026 12:30

Birchwood Forest Park, Birchwood, Warrington, Cheshire

Run under UKA rules – Minimum age 12 years

An accurately measured traffic-free course on good paths through parkland
(Same course is used for Spectrum Striders RC Forest Park Ladies 5k)
Ample car parking in Birchwood Forest Park (One mile from M62 Junction 11)

Entry fee: £5.00 minimum donation to Comic Relief, although a higher donation is always welcome.
All cheques (payable to Julian Spencer) and/or cash should be sent to the below address.

Closing date for receipt of postal entries: Wednesday 18th March 2026
Closing date for online entries: midnight 19th March 2026
Entry to the run can also be given on the day but in advance is preferred.
